About Cathy
Cathy Baylock was first elected to the Burlingame City Council November 6, 2001, and re-elected November 8, 2005. She was appointed Vice Mayor for 2005 and Mayor for 2006. Her commitment as a City Council Member is to protect Burlingame’s historic landmarks, magnificent trees, architectural heritage, unique neighborhoods and the integrity of its parks. A lifetime resident of the Peninsula, Cathy and her family have resided in Burlingame for over fifteen years.
Cathy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. She is the past Bank Manager and Assistant Vice President of Bay View Bank in Burlingame and served previously as a Director of the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce Board.
Cathy’s Community Service has included being a Teen Facilities Committee member, Chair of the Washington School Site Council, Treasurer and Board member at St. Paul’s Co-operative Nursery School, and Treasurer of the Burlingame Historical Society. Her Council duties include overseeing the Library budget, Budget Chair, Audit Committee member, member of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee for C/CAG; and she is City liaison to the Burlingame School District and the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce. She is also serving as City liaison to the Burlingame Centennial Committee and the San Mateo County Sesquicentennial Committee.
Cathy, her husband Joe and their two boys happily reside in a circa 1910 Arts and Crafts bungalow, and the preservation of our nearly century-old town is her passion as well as her priority.
